OSCAR TARGETT - ROUND 1 TGRC SCHOLARSHIP SERIES WRAP

Grove Junior Driver, Oscar Targett made his car racing debut over the weekend for the first round of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia Scholarship Series at Eastern Creek Raceway.

His weekend began with a challenging start, qualifying P19 as he got to know his car and set-up.

For his first and second race of the weekend, Oscar finished both in P18.

Oscar ended his weekend on a high, with a P9 finish for his final race. An impressive result from the 17-year-old Queenslander who, overall felt positive about his weekend and getting racing for first time in 2023.

Oscar Targett said:

"Struggled a bit in Qualifying and the first race and made a silly mistake which put me back to where I started so all the work I did in the first half was a bit pointless in the end, but that last race was good. I made up a lot of spots in the last few laps and there was a red flag actually. I had a good battle at the end and brought the #22 Toyota 86 Grove Hire Car home in P9 so a good weekend in the end!"

Round 2 of the series starts on the 12th of May at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. He is also set to take part in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge at the end of this month.
